Heirloom Portrait Mini Sessions
Now Booking for September 2024 in Green Mountain Falls, Colorado
Theme: Fall
Fall is soon upon us, and we are living for the pumpkin spice, crisp warm colors and crow caws at dusk. Get inspired with some ways to style for your heirloom portrait mini session here:
-
Hygge is defined in the dictionary as "a quality of coziness and comfortable conviviality that engenders a feeling of contentment or well being".
In short, think cozy.
Solid oversized sweaters in autumn colors such as burnt orange, yellow or deep red, browns or creams will help you to stand out in your photo shoot.
Beanies, scarves, hand warmers, tall boots, ALL the warming accessories that help keep you cozy are welcome!
Bonus points if you come prepared with a hot cocoa, coffee or tea in hand!
-
This style will transfer you back to a simpler time while creating some timeless photographs.
Solid colored, long linen or cottom dresses in rich colors such as maroon or burgundy, burnt orange, sage or forest green. The more flowy the dress, the better.
We'll pair you with some darker accessories with browns and golds, toss a weaved basket with some fresh picked flowers over your arm, and you're ready for fall!
For the men, think in browns, khakis and fall colors, keeping your shirt or jackets free from any major logos or fine patterns.

I will have a select number of themed props on hand such as an array of pumpkins, hats and jewelry. If you would like to use any of these, be sure to mention it in your application!
What is an Heirloom Portrait?
Heirloom portraits are a creative + tasteful twist on the traditional family portrait. I chose the name because what clients receive are more than just photographs. They are pieces of art that can be cherished for generations to come. I work with subjects ranging from babies to children to adults to cherished pets. Group + couples portraits are also available at an adjusted rate.
How does a Mini Session work?
Each session is themed with specific props, locations and moods in mind.
Limited time slots will be available on specific days. I will alert you via social media and my newsletter when registration opens so you can be one of the first on the list.
Those among the first to register will be notified via phone call or email and payment will be due at that time. If a client cannot make payment at that time, their time slot will become available for the next in line to keep it fair for everyone.
The time leading up to the mini session, the selected clients and I will stay in communication to discuss wardrobe options, schedule a specific shoot time, offer directions to the location or any other important information.
On shoot day, each client and I will have 30 minutes to capture their heirloom portraits. With my assistance and direction, we will capture natural, editorial style photographs that you will cherish for years to come. Clients are encouraged to arrive at least 15 minutes before their shoot time.
Please arrive with hair + makeup ready to shoot. I am available for assisting in final looks.
After post-production, each client will receive 3 fully edited, final portraits in digital format to use as they wish. More purchasing options such as signed and dated prints or custom fine art versions are also available for an additional fee.
What is the turn-around time?
I always ask clients to give me a minimum of one week turnaround time to allow for post-production and artistry. If for any reason this needs to be extended (hey, life happens sometimes), clients will be notified and kept up to date.
How much is a session and what is included?
An Heirloom Portrait Mini Session includes direct, 24/7 communication with the photographer + creative director (myself) via text, phone and email leading up to a thirty minute themed + styled photography shoot at a predetermined location + date in Green Mountain Falls, Colorado (unless otherwise specified).
Clients will receive 3 final digital images to distribute as they wish, with options of print or custom fine art upgrades.
Heirloom Portrait Mini Sessions are usually $300 for an hour of shooting, but in celebration of the return of the Heirloom Portrait Mini Sessions, the September Fall 2024 theme is 75% OFF! (You’re so very welcome!). Only $75 will be due at registration completion (that’s after I have emailed you back to confirm your spot).
This rate covers a single subject. $50 per additional person (or animal) added in the shot.
What if I don’t have the right wardrobe for the theme?
You would be surprised what we can make work within your own closet. But either way, if buying something new for yourself is out of the question, we can explore other options. With years of experience styling wardrobes in the entertainment industry, I can assure you we will find the perfect fit for our theme.
What if I’m not available the date of the shoot?
Since the Heirloom Portrait Mini Sessions are scheduled in blocks to accommodate a limited number of clients per theme, we may be able to adjust an arrival time, but not the actual date. This must remain as posted.
Themes will be recycled + updated throughout the year, however if you have your heart on a specific theme, we can schedule a mini session on a date that works for you for an addition $150 a la carte fee.
